Fleischmann, produced model trains for Penn Line i. A paper sticker on the undercarriage of their cars was the only identifier of being from Boyertown, Pennsylvania (see photo #6). The first time in HO history that a real air horn sound was added to a locomotive was when this set came out. Not to mention its sheer size at 45 ¼ long, while the track loop measured approximately 37 x 73! And now, you can own it. A Northern Pacific 4-0-4 two-tone green diesel locomotive #6501 with a separate hauled tenderthus, A&B double units with lithographed steel sides (one gold horn is missing from the roof). The owner was an elderly professor whose life-long obsession was spent categorizing and cataloging the different varieties of his rare collections. At least up until dementia set in. Wear is appropriate to aging, but overall condition of box, cardboard inserts, and all contents are in EXCELLENT condition. Stored in a non-smoking and pet-free environment. Interesting Fact: After the war, Fleischmann got a boost from the Marshall Plan. In the US Zone of Germany, the'Tin Toys for Tinned Food' program was devised, whereby toy makers got their factories operational and sent the entire year's production to the US in return for food supplies.
