Lionel U. S. Coast Guard NW-2 Diesel and complete O /O27 Freight Train Set

  

This is a used Lionel #8946 U. It is a complete train set and is in excellent condition, however, I do not have a set box. This set is made up of all modern era components. Included in this sale are the following.

1 - Lionel #8946 U. Coast Guard NW-2 diesel locomotive, with a powerful DC motor, working front and rear headlights and lenses, decorative radio wheel antenna, decorative bell, nickel hand rails and an electronic e unit that allows it to run in forward and reverse directions controlled from the transformer. This locomotive has had a minor repair and touch up, but nothing that affects the operation of the train. The 8946 was built in 1996. 1 - Lionel #04039 8 wheel United States Navy flatcar with a complete and operational #930 submarine. The 04039 was built from 1994 to 1995. 8 wheel flatcar with a Los Angeles County Lifeguard speedboat. The boat requires 2 AA batteries, but I did not test it for operation. Flatcar was built from 1981 to 1982 and the speedboat was built in 1996.

8 wheel chrome finished caboose with a hazardous materials container. Caboose was built from 1981 to 1982.

1 - Lionel Type 4851, 15 VA transformer with a speed control, a push to reverse terminal, a 110 volt power cord and a 2 conductor track power cable with a Lionel track power connector for connection to the track. The 4851 was built from 1985 to 1991 and again from 1994 thru 1996. 8 - Lionel brown tie O27 gauge curved track sections. 6 - Lionel brown tie O27 gauge straight track sections. 1 - Standard operating instruction booklet. 1 - Track polishing pad. I completely assembled the set and tested everything.

All parts of the train are in excellent condition and it operates perfectly. It does have some minor playwear and the locomotive has had a minor repair and touch up.

The track does have some light rust and tarnish. I lightly cleaned them, made sure each track has 3 pins and the train runs great on these tracks.

Overall, this is a great train set and is ready to set up and play with. I have described this item to the best of my ability, please check the photos carefully as they are also part of the description.
