Marx 4 Unit 027 Gauge Steam Military Supply Train. This is a used Marx 4 unit military steam supply train. The 490 locomotive and the gondola have had some repairs. All of the trains have been painted olive green and had some after market graphics applied.

The tender, gondola and the caboose were all 1950's to 1960's era Marx cars that were custom decorated and the caboose was fitted with offensive / defensive armament. Included in this sale are the following. 1 - Marx 0-4-0 #490 steam locomotive that goes in the forward direction only as it was built to do. It has a nice bright working headlight and is custom decorated as a military steamer. The 490 was built from 1962 to 1975.

1 - Marx custom painted 4 wheel tender. 1 - Marx 8 wheel gondola painted in olive green for military supply. 1 - Marx 4 wheel caboose which has an anti-aircraft machine gun mounted to the roof.

The gun swivels 360 degrees and tilts vertically for air and ground targets. This unit has also been custom decorated as a military caboose. 1 - Lionel type 1025 25 watt transformer with a speed control, a 110 volt power cord & wall plug and a 2 conductor cable for track power.

3 - Plastic military figures with weapons is various positions. 1 - Marx track power connector. 8- Marx 027 gauge curved track sections. 4 - Marx 027 gauge straight track sections.

I completely assembled the set and tested everything. All of the train components are plastic and are in very good condition, there have been some repairs on some of the train units, but nothing that interferes with the operation of the train. There may be light rust on some of the metal parts, but, again, nothing that interferes with the operation of the train. The locomotive and all of the cars have slot and tab couplers.

The track is in fair to good condition, with some light rust and tarnish. I lightly cleaned them, made sure each track has 3 pins, and made sure the train runs properly on them. I included a track polishing pad for maintenance. This train is ready to set up and play with.
