Marx 898 O Gauge Electric Train Set with Rolling Stock, Track and Accessories

  

O Gauge Marx 898 electric train set, includes train, track, transformer and accessories. Set Includes: #898, 0-4-0 Locomotive. 20, 2024, runs good, forward and reverse. Light works but is intermittent. The contactors could use a good cleaning.

New York Central Vanderbilt tender #553 Santa Fe Middle States Oil tank car #552 Rock Island gondola car Electric double searchlight floodlight car #556 New York Central caboose All cars have surface rust on the wheels and undercarriage and could use a good cleaning, the gondola car is a little bent and needs some repair. The floodlight car works, but again, the contacts could use a good cleaning. Also includes the Marx electric Gandy Dancer. This unit does not run, not sure if the motor is bad or if is just a contact issue.

The figure in grey is missing his right arm. Track includes 9 pieces straight, 8 standard curves, 1 figure eight crosstrack, 3 short (5") straight, 3 short (5") curves. Also includes 1 auto street crossing. Accessories include plastic water tower, (missing the tender filler tube,) electric crossing gate not complete, I don't know if this works. 1 small plastic crossing gate, 1 automatic signal that works, and 4 streetlights. Working transformer and terminal connection for the track. If your Father or Grandfather had one of these Marx trains as a kid, this train set should bring back a lot of memories. It's a nice piece of nostalgia that could use some TLC to restore it to its former condition.
